1. What media exploded in the 50's and how did business?
Television industry exploded and business reacted to the explotion by advertising, TV dinner, and TV Guide was introduced.

Elvis Presley developed his music style by singing in the church and listening to gospel but people thought that it was the devil's music also they thought that teenage girls are going to get pregnant and all teenagers are going to rebel.

1. What were some causes for the baby boom?
Husbands and wifes got together after war, large families were desirable, decreasing marrige age, advance in medicine and economic prosperity.

New toys, more schools= more teachers also the need for child care.

1. What was the U.S. economy like during WWII? How were Americans doing?

the economy was not doing so well you could not go and buy everything you wanted. there were rations to how much you may buy of everything

2. How did the American economy transform after The Great Depression and WWII?

they went from mostly blue collar jobs to white collars jobs where they work in offices

3. Why would a company like Google not do well in the 50’s?

during this time you could not be creative  a rebel  or rock the boat things you need to work in google

The Boy In the Striped Pajamas

  1. Bruno moved with his family so his father could be closer to the Nazi death camps. At first only father knew the real reason for moving to the country. Why do you think father was so secretive about why the family moved?
the father was secretive because he thought the family would not agree with him about his views
  1. Bruno was taught to think of Jews in a certain way. What was Bruno taught about Jews?
he was taught that they were evil and bad people who were not really people. they were the reason germany lost the first world war
  1. When Bruno fell from the swing a Jewish man helped him. Why was this event significant to Bruno’s mother’s thinking of Jewish people?
she saw that they were really not careless people. they were normal people like everybody elsejust blamed for something that was not their fault

  1. Bruno’s father evolved and transformed from a loving father to what? Why?
he transformed into a soldier that only cared about what hitler wanted to happen

  1. Bruno evolved and transformed as well. What kind of boy was he at first, and what did he transform to?
at first he was a happy boy who believed everything he was told did not question anything. at the end he did not know what was happy but he sort of had his own thoughts now  he did not believe that jews were bad.

i think it is sad that he had to die for the dad to finally to realize what they are doing and what is going on and that it is bad.

Japanese Internment & Justice

1. What does the word “internment” mean to you?
keeping someone prisoner during wartime

2. Why were Japanese-Americans interned in Manzanar?
they were seen as a threat sense the U.S. was fighting Japan

3. Why were Japanese internment policies wrong?
it was wrong because the Japanese people that were here built those camps fought for this country but they were still imprisoned for something they did not take part of.
